Lilacs and Lessons

It's finally time....spring....headed into summer. I brought the first fresh flowers into the house this past week. Daffodils, grape hyacinth, tulips....oh so nice. I sprinkled the bouquets around the house...but mostly upstairs. That's what my mom used to do when we were at home. Fresh linens always seemed to be accompanied by fresh lilacs on our bedside tables. They smelled dazzling as we slipped into our crisp, freshly made beds. I think about those things now more that I am a mom. I appreciated those little things, even when I was young, but now I TRULY appreciate all the little things my mom did and does for us. She did it while balancing work and a nearly 3 hour commute everyday. I don't think I'll ever be that tireless, but think I learned a little something about how much the little things count....and stick in those little ones' brains.

Happy Birthday Mom.

I kinda love comments, who doesn't? Nice comments. Only. I'm picky that way. ;-)
