Is there any hope for me?

Conversation this AM while making my bed

Marshall: Mommy, did you know this carpet is a swirly mud hole?

Mommy: No, I didn't realize that.

Marshall: And there are swirly mudhole worms that live in it....and they eat people.

Mommy: Well I don't want to be eaten by any swirly mudhole worms.

And here it is.....the clincher....spoken in his most serious, grave voice.

Marshall: Well, all we can do is hope.

The World According to Marshall

Maybe I should say Marshall aka "VanOort paparazzi". If you ever wanted to know what a celebrity feels like having a camera flash at them for hours on end come to our house. ;-) Or at least until his batteries run out. The kid has an eye though....Uncle Mike will be proud. Maybe not the butt shot, but he has some awesome photographs....I'll share more later.

Ode to Crazy Horse

We did it Crazy Horse....you, I, and your little orbiting friend....we did it. We managed to take a sadly neglected porch floor from this.....

TO THIS........

God Bless Power Tools and the Dads that come with them. ;-)

Deer in the Headlights

The gig is up. The flashlight bandit has been caught. So it REALLY isn't our fault that our flashlights NEVER have functioning batteries.

I now know why God gave me two boys.......

Yardwork.

Just kidding, just kidding. But darn if they aren't good helpers! This afternoon, at Marshall's insistence, we commenced the branch cutting projects around the yard. Those naughty naughty walnut trees decide to grow every darn place you don't want them...and Marshall the Enforcer does away with them. Then there was the problem rose patch that seemed to be pooping out and needed a crewcut. Marshall trimmed and cut and cut and trimmed for hours. And bless his little heart, Clancey Dylan would drag those limbs to the pile, one after another. Most at least twice his size. Frankly I stood around with my hands on my hips the majority of the time....hmm....that's a strange feeling now isn't it?
