Am I the only crazy that saves EVERYTHING? I know there's someone out there with this logic too....besides you Dad..... "but it's so neat....there's got to be SOMETHING I could do with this, I should just save it." Some time ago began my compulsive environmentally conscious saving of concentrated oj metal lids....you know the metal thingies on the ends of the can? Well.....it finally dawned on me! Now aren't you glad I saved these my dear husband? I didn't spend a dime on this project. ;-)
Basically follow these instructions, add a piece of wire as a poker, a pretty bead and there you have it! I'm off to make a jillion more to label all the things I lose track of in the garden. :-)

DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW AWESOME YOU ARE? These look amazing. Do you fill in the letters with marker to make them darker when you press them?
ReplyDeleteI don't save anything. I'd throw away silverware to avoid cleaning it if my husband didn't step in (exaggerating).
Where do you keep all these things you hang onto?
PS - how's the kitchen going?
This is a great idea, and I love how you found a purpose for something that would otherwise be tossed or recycled!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful! I've made many different garden markers and none hold up to the weather. I will have to make these. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOK these are ADORABLE. I have a couple of parties each week and they are open till Fri night. I would love to have you show these off they are darling.
ReplyDeleteBe sure to check out the DIY Club inc site the next party starts next week.
I'm following you now.
Cheri from Its So Very Cheri
Very cute! I love that you found something new to do with those stamping kits. I need to get myself one, they look so fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat a GREAT idea! Nice job!
ReplyDeleteSo clever! I have got to try it this year! Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I love the extra touch of the beads. Way to go on your 2.99 pots from the other post, what a deal. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is pure genius! I'm so bummed that I've been throwing those tops away!
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower!
These look so great!
ReplyDeleteLOVE THIS! Also, loved that you struck out "compulsive" and replaced it with "environmentally!
ReplyDeleteI am so going to make these and it cracks me up that I have four of the little red doo-dads that you have on the garlic, but mine are purple, they have been sitting on my desk for I don't know how long because they are so neat....there had to be SOMETHING I could do with them, and this is it! ;)
Thanks for sharing!
How did you write the words on the lids?
ReplyDeleteI know this is over a decade later, but this idea was the very first thing I ever saw on Pinterest, and it must have made quite the impression. I finally went out and bought the stamping kit today. I do have a question though – what are you using to hold them up?
